Wordpress Plugins I Use

Yesterday I installed a few new plugins on my blog. Here is a list of them:

Akismet: This actually comes with wordpress by default. All I had to do was to go to the Plugins section in the admin area and activate it. If you want to automatically approve the comments posted on your blog then this plug in is a must. If the automatic approval is turned on then you start receiving a lot of spam. This plugin filters off the junk.

Subscribe To Comments: I wanted to give the option to my commenters to start receiving an email every time a new comment is posted on the post that they originally commented on. The commenters can choose this option by ticking a checkbox. You can download the plugin from Subscribe To Comments.

After installing the plugin I had to go to the options and enter the text that appears next to the checkbox (if you don’t do this then no text appears next to the checkbox).

Share This:
This plugin allows your readers to share your content via the social bookmarking sites. You can download this plugin here Share This.

All In One Seo:
With this plugin you can create custom title tags, keywords and descriptions for your individual posts. This plugin is a must for good SEO. Not all blog titles make good title tags. So its best to have a unique title tag and this plug can help you - All In One Seo

Adsense Plugin:
This plugin allows you to place the adsense at the positions you wish. Great plugin - Adsense

The last change I have made (not really a plugin) is to split the post into two sections. This one came out of my personal experience. Lately some of the blogs I visit don’t split the posts and to get to a old post I have to scroll all the way down. I have started finding this a bit annoying. Splitting a post is a good way to present your post. Your reader can either read more of a post by clicking the ‘More’ link or move on to the next post. So what did I do to do this? Easy really…Just clicked on the ‘more’ icon (shown below) at the point where I wanted to split my post.
